NEW Early Morning Sick Clinic Appointments

Hello SSP Family,

We have exciting news. Starting October 30th, we are opening our doors earlier to increase our acute sick appointment availability through this fall/winter season.

Early Morning Sick Clinic (EMSC) quick facts: BY APPOINTMENT ONLY FOR ESTABLISHED PATIENTS ONLY FOR ACUTE ILLNESSES OF 3 DAYS OR LESS DURATION FOR INFANTS OLDER THAN 3 MONTHS

EMSC clinic:

  1. Begins October 30th and operates 5 days a week.

  2. The Parent will call on the day of the desired appointment between 7 am and 7:30 am prepared to arrive between 730 am and 8 am.

  3. This clinic is by appointment only, is first-come, first-served, and visits are of shorter duration.

  4. Appropriate - Only for illnesses of 3 days or less. - Examples: colds, ear pain, congestion, eye discharge, sore throat, diarrhea. - Concerns addressed are typically discussed and diagnosed efficiently.

  5. Inappropriate (will be rescheduled to an appropriate time) - An illness that began more than 3 days ago or has been on and off. - EMSC is not for management of abdominal pain, headaches, stitches/sutures, concussion/head trauma, falls, constipation, or asthma/wheezing. - These concerns require more time. - Other sick concerns will be scheduled during our regular office hours.

  6. Infants younger than 3 months need more time and should not use EMSC clinic for any concerns.

  7. No walk-ins please. You must call. We hope to move to online scheduling in the future.

We still offer our usual sick appointments for all concerns during our regular business hours, 730 am to 430 pm. Those appointments will be scheduled the same way they have been in the past.

MORE DETAILS

  • Please sign up for the patient portal for lab results (COVID, Flu, Strep, RSV).

  • Arrive to your visit at your appointment time. The grace period is short during this early morning clinic.

  • If you are late for your appointment, you will be given the next available appointment time, this could be much later in the day.

  • If your visit requires more time and is not EMSC appropriate, our triage nurse will provide you the next available visit that is appropriate for your concern. For chronic concerns, this could be on another day.

  • Please understand that you will still need to have patience.

  • Call for the early morning same-day sick appointments between 7 am and 7:30 am.

  • Please call after 7:30 for other sick appointments for that day, scheduling check ups or consults, allowing our staff to concentrate on the EMSC clinic at the earlier call-in times

We are really excited to be able to open earlier and increase access to our patients!
