Silver Spring Pediatrics is growing!

We are thrilled to have two outstanding, experienced, caring, dedicated new doctors joining our family in 2021!

Dr. Elizabeth Gilliam-Hertz joined Silver Spring Pediatrics in January 2021. Dr. Cara Lichtenstein will come on board in May 2021. This will allow us to offer more well visits, greater availability of sick visit appointments, and more experts to consult on any ongoing challenge you and your child may have.

Cara Lichtenstein M.D.

Dr. Lichtenstein was born and raised in New York and is a graduate of Brown University with a degree in Mathematics. After undergraduate, she returned to NY for medical school at Mt Sinai School of Medicine and pediatrics residency at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. She moved to this area to complete a fellowship in General Academic Pediatrics at Children’s National and went on to practice at one of their community-based clinical sites in Washington, DC from 2004-2021. She was also an Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Residency Program at Children’s National from 2008-2021. She is incredibly excited to become the newest member of the Silver Spring Pediatrics family!

Outside of medicine, Dr. Lichtenstein enjoys running, swimming, and is an avid skier. She and her husband have two children and two dogs, and she is looking forward to a much shorter commute time so she can spend more time with them.

Dr. Gilliam is thrilled to be part of a practice closer to her home in the Silver Spring area, where she lives with her husband and two daughters. She loves to hike and walk in Rock Creek Park, and hopes that someday (post COVID) she can resume annual visits to family in Copenhagen and friends in London!
