Born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland, Dr. Zang graduated Magna Cum Laude in History and Science from Harvard College.  She then received her medical degree from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine, where she received an award from the pediatrics department. Dr. Zang completed her pediatrics residency, including a year as Chief Resident, at Children's National Medical Center.

Dr. Zang's outside interests include spending time with her husband and two children, photography, reading, and staying active.  She also considers herself a diehard local sports fan (especially the Washington Nationals).
