    Ear Piercing We will pierce the ears of infants 2 months to 12 months old. Children over 9 years tolerate the procedure best. We will not restrain children for this procedure, hence, we advise those that have missed the infant timeframe to wait until after 9 yrs old. Procedure is not charged to insurance.     < Previous Cara Lichtenstein M.D. Dr. Lichtenstein was born and raised in New York and is a graduate of Brown University with a degree in Mathematics. After undergraduate, she returned to NY for medical school at Mt Sinai School of Medicine and pediatrics residency at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. She moved to this area to complete a fellowship in General Academic Pediatrics at Children’s National and went on to practice at one of their community-based clinical sites in Washington, DC from 2004-2021. She was also an Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Residency Program at Children’s National from 2008-2021. She is incredibly excited to become the newest member of the Silver Spring Pediatrics family! Outside of medicine, Dr. Lichtenstein enjoys running, swimming, and is an avid skier.
